Finding the balance between beautiful showroom design and meeting business objectives is not an easy task. While the visual design element is an important supporting role of office interior design, it has to contribute to the ultimate objective of increasing sales. The design needs to have enough personality without becoming a distraction.

To accomplish these goals, the Secret Lab team turned to SORDC for an overhaul of the company’s premises. A couple of important goals had to be met when working on renovations of their meeting room and showroom. Based on the client’s vision and their field of operations, this is what we came up with.

Industrial Design Helps Award-Winning Chairs Stand Out

The Secret Lab specialises in the production of gaming chairs – a niche field that can benefit from a highly specific corporate design vision. Our work on the Secret Lab showroom brought that vision to reality effortlessly.

We chose an industrial theme to contrast the modern, streamlined and ergonomic appearance of the chairs. At the same time, we worked on introducing some warmth to make the space much more inviting. Easy product testing was another primary goal we kept in mind throughout the process.

A number of elements were cohesively employed throughout the space to achieve the desired outcomes.

Exposed beams and geometric elements are evident throughout the showroom. Bright red, black and neutral colours all work well together to create little elements of visual interest, without diverting attention away from the products themselves.

Speaking of which, we decided to integrate two special platforms in the showroom design. The tiered platforms provide the perfect stage for product presentation. Introducing hidden lights under the platforms, we gave the chairs some softness and we also highlighted the most beautiful design elements.

The SORDC team also did a lot of additional construction planning and work. The existing concrete floor proved to be uneven upon measurement. We did extensive levelling and we also replaced the old surfaces with vinyl floors.

Now, customers visiting the showroom can sit into the tester chairs and make sure they move around effortlessly. We hold a firm belief in the functional importance of commercial interior design. This is why we selected a flooring materials that looks good, is easy to maintain and offers a realistic opportunity for thorough product testing.

A Cosy, Yet Cool Meeting Room

The Secret Lab meeting room is the second place that SORDC transformed. We stuck to the theme chosen for the showroom, while making a few modifications to suit the specifics of the space in the best possible way.

Black glass elements create consistency in the meeting room and the showroom. In addition, this cool material was used to cover up construction pillars and it was branded to carry the company logo.

Plain wallpaper covered the concrete wall to create a clean canvas for the presentation of chair leather samples.

Finally, we introduced hanging linear lights – another element to ensure consistency between the meeting room and the showroom.

All design elements are cool, modern, yet unobtrusive. These have been chosen purposefully, making sure that the Secret Lab chairs are the star of the show.
