Flexible, Modern Efficiency: Coworking at the Renovated Centrium Square Space

What’s the one word that can describe the main preference of professionals when it comes to working spaces? That’s right – flexibility.

Gone are the days of rigid office cubicles and working premises serving a single purpose. Today, professionals and employees want multi-functionality, a chance to communicate effortlessly and a space that’s conductive of office wellbeing.

These are some of the main reasons why co-working has taken off and it’s become such a popular trend.

The Covid-19 pandemic hasn’t killed co-working. In fact, it has helped towards the introduction of new office interior design features that make co-working offices safer, better and much more enticing.

SORDC’s team recently completed the office renovation of a Centrium Square coworking space. Through our involvement, the premises were utilised effectively, giving “inhabitants” everything required to enjoy a productive and enjoyable work day.

Safety and Flexibility – Ideal Settings for Both Individuals and Teams

Working on the project, we did our best to ensure optimal working conditions for both individuals and small professional teams. Here’s what we focused on in order to give the space some new shine.

This photo gives you a good idea of the layout and the way that the space was utilised.

The general office area is separated from the meeting rooms via glass panels. These ensure privacy, increase safety and allow for some visibility at the same time. As a result, the space maintains its open appeal and doesn’t feel small.

The coworking space benefits from one meeting room and two office rooms. The meeting room can accommodate up to four people while the offices are ideal for teams of two. We introduced these to ensure some privacy during encounters with clients, brainstorming sessions and other professional activities that necessitate a bit of seclusion.

Everyone else can enjoy the common office area. It’s the one that ensures a sense of community and delivers the perks of coworking. To increase safety during a time of a pandemic, we spaced the desks and other furniture pieces at a sufficiently big distance from each other. This decision has also increased airiness and reduced the risk of clutter accumulation.

The coworking space covers an impressive area of 520 square feet. Hence, it’s given us enough room to get creative and ensure all of the features that present day professionals would need.

One of the most interesting improvements we chose for the coworking area at Centrium Square is our hot desking tables. These are installed with modesty panels, allowing each individual to focus on the task at hand and enjoy a bit of separation from their neighbour. In addition, each hot desk is equipped with a mobile pedestal that instantly ensures additional storage space.

Speaking of storage space, every filing cabinet in the coworking area is equipped with a number lock. Valuables, documents, gadgets and other personal items can be stored there safely. These cabinets are exceptionally convenient, especially when it comes to professionals who plan to use the coworking amenities for a longer period of time.

Let’s head into one of the office rooms to check out the design.

As you can see, we’ve gone for modern, minimal and practical. There’s no clutter, no needless decorative knickknacks. At the same time, the space carries some warmth due to the warm tones and the natural materials like wood laminates.

Like the coworking area, the separate offices also brag sufficient storage space.

All cabinets are shades white, which helps gives the sense of spaciousness. Together with the glass panels, these create the illusion of a much larger room. The cabinets are tall enough to utilise vertical space, ensuring enough storage without being bulky and obtrusive.

The hot desks are also present in the office room. While it is intended for a team of two, having a little bit of seclusion through the use of the dividers can be beneficial. The absence of distractions is one of the easiest ways to increase productivity during the work day.

This photo gives you a better idea of how all the elements work together in the office room. One more feature worth mentioning is the discrete yet powerful office lighting that ensures sufficient illumination right over the working areas.

The last functional area we worked on is the dry pantry.

Here, we introduced a pop of colour to make the space fun, cheerful and welcoming. Instead of white storage, we selected wooden cabinets that contrast the blue wall and give the dry pantry enough warmth.
